Looking for an Osteo Clinic in Berwick?
What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a form of ‘hands-on’ manual therapy that believes the structure and the function of the body are very closely linked. Osteopaths use a holistic approach to assess, examine, treat and manage the musculoskeletal system. Osteopaths examine and treat more than just the site of pain. We will assess the surrounding structures to allow us to come up with an accurate diagnosis of what is causing your pain, so that we can establish the best treatment and management plan to help you move better, feel better and live a happier and healthier lifestyle.
What happens during my appointment?
The treatment techniques used by Osteopaths during your consultation may be soft tissue massage and stretching, trigger point therapy, joint articulation and manipulation, muscle energy techniques, cranial and finer movement treatment approaches such as balanced ligamentous tension. All of these techniques help to allow the muscles, nerves, joints, ligaments, connective tissue and tendons of the body to function better. This type of treatment will not only help your musculoskeletal system function better but other systems of the body such as your circulatory or digestive systems, may in turn benefit as well.
